Our goal is to promote the health and taste benefits of cooking fish and seafood at home. Fish is easy and we want to prove it to you!

Dirk and Terry Fucik are a husband and wife team that use

their shared expertise to teach the classes.

We are both self made chefs who both cook and experiment with lots of different dishes and ingredients(Terry is an awesome cook and culinary genius). We try to focus on easy to prepare and tasty dishes using only the very best ingredients. All in a friendly and casual atmosphere with small classes. Fish and seafood is what we do best with various ethnic flairs thrown in, especially Cuban/Hispanic.

Fish is the original fast food and we specialize in showing you why!

Our classes are B.Y.O.B.

We encourage you to bring a bottle of you favorite wine,

a friend, a date, your mate and make a night of it!

You will walk away full of good food, good company and all the recipes we demonstrate that evening.

Join us for one of our original cooking classes. We come up with many easy to prepare delicious fish and seafood recipes. Only sustainable ocean products are used in all our cooking classes so you can feel good about what you eat. Terry, Dirk's wife is an awesome cook and is instrumental in developing our recipes. We do our classes in the  store and we grill outside. Our classes are mostly demonstrations where you watch, ask questions and eat all that we prepare. B.Y.O.B. your favorite beverage and join us for a casual evening of educational fun and good eating. We provide an ample tasting of all our recipes.

In order to do this, we need an accurate count of all students.

*If you haven't canceled by the Saturday prevoius to the class that you've scheduled,

Private group classes require a $100.00 non refundable deposit.

These classes have a one week cancellation policy.

JUNE CLASSES

Join us for our first grill class of the summer season. We’ve come up with some great easy casual summer recipes for the grill that are sure to taste amazing and impress your friends. Terry has incorporated some tasty twists on these classic grill recipes which would be outstanding for a family dinner or to entertain your guests at the weekend BBQ.

 

Zesty Tako Tacos:

A savory Latin marinated octopus with red cabbage and avocado cream served with fresh pico de gallo.

Mediterranean Trout Burger:

Herbed rainbow trout with home made tzatziki sauce, pickled onions, and arugula on a grilled pita.

Asian Rockin’ Rock Shrimp Wrap:

Togarashi seasoned grilled rock shrimp with crispy Asian slaw and creamy avocados.

Cobia Sliders:

A seasoned blend of cobia makes a great mini burger and goes to the next level when we add herbed goat cheese and Terry’s jalapeño/ tomato chutney. Stand back White Castle!

 

We will finish you off with our famous Key Lime pie.

A Slow Taste of the Great Lakes

A Casual Buffet Dinner featuring

Sustainable Fish of the Great Lakes with Slow Food.

Right in our own backyard lays one of the great wonders of the world, freshwater inland seas, called the Great Lakes. These lakes hold more than 20% of the world’s fresh water and are home to many different types of “local” and sustainable fish. Tonight’s dinner is a celebration of these fish, incorporated into our original recipes as a sumptuous feast for your taste buds. There will be a short presentation by the Shedd Aquarium on the issues of sustainability and your fish choices.

Our friends and customers are always asking us when we are going to do a class featuring all of Terry's fantasic Cuban dishes. So by popular demand, we are putting one together for you.  3-WAY MUSSELS

A progressive dish that starts as an appetizer, turns into a soup and finishes as a saffron cream sauce over pasta, all from the same pot! You will be amazed by the taste and the ease of preparation of this recipe. All be accompanied by fresh Red Hen bread.

 

HALIBUT ROAST

A simple recipe that creates the most succulent piece of halibut you have ever tasted. This will be served with Wasabi cream sauce and Cuban Guacamole.
